Donald Trump: My favorite American president

Contrary to popular opinion, I love Donald Trump. He is the president Americans deserve. He is the realest American to ever lead America. He is also MAGA - Making Asia Great Again. Let’s briefly go through his wins.

    1. He destroys the carefully crafted image of a racially tolerant, free, liberal America based on rule of law.

    2. He betrays and alienates his allies left and right to the point where Germany has pushed for independence from the American SWIFT system.

    3. He has surrounded himself with ignorant worms such as high level economic adviser, Peter Navarro.

    4. He destroys America’s credibility by tearing up treaties, deals, and pending agreements [withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal, abandon Paris Climate Agreement, abandon TPP, back stabbed China who helped sanctioned North Korea to ease usa-China trade tensions, negotiating then abandoning a trade settlement with China, requesting trade talks with China and then slapping tariffs on China, etc]

    5. He calls countries including its southern neighbor, “shit holes” filled with rapists and murderers.

    6. He scapegoats ethnic minorities for America’s problems. Thereby, giving a national nod to white supremacists, neo-nazis, white nationalists, and the alt right to live out their barely concealed racist hate against ethnic minorities.

    7. He unleashed a frenzy of xenophobia across the country - especially against the Chinese, who FBI director refers to as a “whole society threat”. This has the wonderful effect of discouraging the migration of intelligent Asian expats/students.

    8. He reduced spending for scientific research and increased the war department’s onerous budget. This has the double whammy of encouraging scientists to leave for greener pastures while dumping more money into a bloated military that is impotent against its rivals, mainly China and Russia [anti stealth radars, anti ship missiles, and MAD].

    9. Started a trade war that will hurt America far more than China in the long run. This requires some explaining.

China slaves away while choking on pollution for pennies on the dollar while Western corporations reap the lion’s share of the profits while enjoying a cleaner environment. Western corporations enjoy huge profit margins selling high value branded goods and services. The services balance is wildly in America’s favor. Yet, they omit this fact. Western corporations enjoy a dominant position in many market segments. The trade war will raise anti-Western sentiment and allow native Chinese brands to flourish instead. This will happen as China’s market continues to rapidly grow effectively locking Western companies out of the lucrative Chinese market.

There are some products/services that China needs to import from America for now [cpu, software], but substitutes are either available or will be available soon. They may not be at the bleeding edge, but it’s not necessary.

China imports “wants” - not “needs”

Meanwhile, Americans need affordable Chinese products to survive. There are no substitutes at the same price, scale, reliability, and speed as China. No other country posses the same level of educated intelligent work force, industry experience, energy and logistics infrastructure, and supply chain. His tariff’s are a tax on the American consumer who already have extremely low savings, high unemployment rate [see shadowstats.com], are one medical disaster away from bankruptcy, and are competing against ever more competitors abroad [who can work for less], etc. There’s a reason Walmart grew to dominate the retail landscape over the past several decades - American consumers rely on cheap goods to survive. American consumers buy at Walmart because they get the most value per dollar spent. That is the same reason nations buy from China. No other country provides better value. Any attempt to buy elsewhere will result in higher prices, lower quality, slower delivery, etc.

Americans import “needs” - not “wants”.

The American market represents a shrinking percentage of China’s total export market [4% currently], which is also shrinking as China’s domestic economy grows. Exports represent only 20% of China’s GDP. Only 20% of those exports go to America. Over half of those “exports” are from Western businesses manufacturing in China. The OBOR project and economic ties with Africa and South America are growing rapidly. China can maintain its economic health while diverting exports away from America and to other markets.

Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.

It’s for these and other reasons that I encourage you all to sing praises to this ass clown whenever you can. Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake. Pour fuel on the fire. I hope he gets re-elected.The longer he stays in the oval office, the faster the American empire dies while giving us comedy gold.

    Caveats:

    1. I know he is bad news for the few millions of Asians in America. However, Asia proper’s billions will grow in strength. It’s a good a trade.

    2. For all his bluster, he seems less inclined to use military force to achieve his goals. Although, this could change.

I agree. Hillary had her sights on Asia and was drooling over it. Not a good thing at all. Trump’s election was a godsend for Asians.

@natalie_ng We all need to move to Canada. There are big enclaves and Trudeau wants to bring in more expats. There would be enough numbers to get political power as long as we organize properly.

  • @secondstrike I see your point in how he could indirectly help Asia. I remembered reading another article where he not only slapped China with tariffs but Japan and South Korea as well, which is now pushing the three into relying on each other for trade–which is a good thing since it would take America out of the equation and make Asia largely independent economically.

Of course, as you’ve already pointed out, the biggest concern is his impact on those of us living here in the US. Not sure how to get around that other than moving to Asia ourselves.
